I have always been a fan of music from before my generation. I was born in the eighties, but I absolutely love the rock music from the fifties and sixties. Two of my favorite science fiction films have always been Alien and Aliens. These movies were very different in tone yet they were both great examples of science fiction.
Alien was a dark story about an encounter with an alien race that did not go well for the crew of the ship that happened upon this alien. Aliens on the other hand was much more of an action-based story, where crew space Marines had to fight off a massive amounts these alien creatures.
After these first two movies the series took a quick nosedive into becoming formulaic garbage. It was no longer scary or exciting. The new Prometheus movie returns us to the world of “Alien” with a new story of what happened prior to the events in the first movie. It is written and directed by Ridley Scott who did the very first Alien movie. This new movie should bring the story back to a good science fiction rather than just having it be a nasty slasher film.
